Kaweah River

Now booking the Kaweah river!

Also check out the Middle Fork of the American River.

The Kaweah River is located in the foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada Range of California along Highway 198 at the southern entrance to Sequoia National Park. The river passes through the small town of Three Rivers and ends up in Lake Kaweah (Terminus Reservoir). It's one of the steepest drainages in the US from its headwaters at 12000 feet to Lake Kaweah.

We offer a Class 3 & 4 as well as a Class 4 & 5 white water adventure.

The 2008 season is now over.
Good water levels will start in late March or early April next year. Call for more info or to book your trip in advance.
See you on the river!

The Kaweah is a free-flowing river. With no upstream dams, the river depends on snowmelt for its flows. The Kaweah begins to run when the snow begins to melt in the mountains (Early April), flows generally peak around Memorial Day.

If you went on a Full Day or Morning Half Day trip with Kaweah Whitewater and would like to see pictures of your trip (or if you would just like to see some good whitewater photography) feel free to visit Bill Pooley's Kaweah River Picture Page.
